Ridge Slate.
Ridge Slate is an independent software studio run by Rene B. in Ontario, Canada. It makes focused imaging tools for Photoshop that work offline, collect nothing, and are sold once rather than rented. LUTweave is its first product.
Why LUTweave exists
Most people who work with colour accumulate LUTs faster than they can review them. Packs get bought, bundled, downloaded and forgotten, and the collection quietly becomes a folder of good ideas nobody opens.
The reason is mechanical rather than creative. Photoshop lists LUTs by filename with no thumbnails, and loads them one at a time through a file dialog. Reviewing a thousand of them means a thousand rounds of the same slow loop, so almost nobody does it. People reuse the same handful they remember the names of.
LUTweave was built for that specific bottleneck: browse the library visually, stack up to eight LUTs at independent strengths, and see the combined result on your own image while you adjust it.
How it is built
LUTweave is a UXP plugin that runs inside Photoshop on Windows. It does not phone home, does not require an account, and does not upload your images or LUTs anywhere. Licensing is verified offline inside the plugin, which means a purchased licence keeps working whether or not this website or any server is still running.
That last point is deliberate. Software that stops working when a company disappears is not really sold, it is lent.
What Ridge Slate stands for
- Offline by default. LUTweave runs entirely on your machine. No account, no sign-in, no telemetry, no usage reporting. If your internet is off, everything still works.
- One-time pricing. Pro is bought once, not rented. The licence is perpetual for the major version you bought, and updates within 1.x are included.
- A free version that is actually useful. Free is not a countdown or a watermark. It gives you two LUT slots plus the full browsing, preview and Apply workflow, with no time limit.
- Honest about limits. Windows only at launch. Spatial effects cannot be exported into a .cube file. Where something does not work, the documentation says so.
What is next
A macOS version is possible later, but no date is promised, and nothing is announced until it is real. Version 1.x updates continue for existing Pro customers.
If you have found a bug, hit a compatibility problem, or want something LUTweave does not do yet, that feedback shapes what gets built. Write to support@ridgeslate.com — messages are read and answered personally.
